BIMGUID command

Generates new GUIDs or assigns a user-specified GUID.

Method

The command generates new GUIDs for multiple BIM classified entities with non-unique GUIDs or assigns a user-specified GUID to a single selected BIM classified entity.

  • To generate new GUIDs for multiple BIM entities at once, select the entities, then press Enter.
  • To manually assign a GUID to a BIM entity, select the entity, press Enter, select the Input guid option, and then type the GUID.
    Note: The string must have 22 characters and be unique.

Options within the command

Generate
Generates a GUID for each of the selected BIM entities with non-unique GUIDs.
Input guid
Prompts you to enter a GUID for the selected BIM entity.
Transfer guid
Copies the source entity GUID to the previously selected entity.
Regenerate
Regenerates the GUID of the source entity to ensure unique GUIDs.
Keep
Keeps the original GUID of the source entity.
