Freezes the selected layers in all viewports except the current one.

Description

Freezes the selected layers in all viewports except the current one, either within a layout or across all layouts.

Note:
  • This command operates only in Paper Space.
  • This command requires two or more Paper Space viewports.

Method

When you run the command, the current settings are displayed in the Command line. To change the current settings, choose the Settings option before selecting an entity.

Note: The selected settings remain valid across BricsCAD® sessions.

Click any layout viewport to make it the current viewport.

Based on the current settings, you are prompted to select an entity on the layer you want to be isolated in the current viewport.

Note: Each viewport has its own layer of visibility settings.

Options within the command

Settings
Allows you to change the layouts or block selection settings.
Layouts
Allows you to select whether the layers of the selected entities freeze in the viewports of all layouts or only the current layout (except the current viewport).
All layouts
Freezes the layers of selected entities in the viewports of all layouts (except for the current viewport).
Current layout
Freezes the layers of selected entities in all viewports of the current layout (except for the current viewport).
Block selection
Allows you to configure which layers are frozen when blocks, xrefs, nested blocks, or nested xrefs are selected.
Block
Freezes only layers of the selected blocks, even if it is part of a nested block, xref, or nested xref.
Entity
Freezes only the layers of the selected entity, even if it is part of a block, nested block, xref, or nested xref.
None
Freezes all layers of the selected entity, including the block, nested block, xref, or nested xref that these entities are part of.
Note:
  • Inserted blocks or attached xrefs are assigned to the current layer.
  • The entire block or xref is highlighted when the mouse hovers over it, but freezing is done based on the setting made at the block nesting level.
Undo
Undoes the last layer freeze and continues the selection.
