Create the folder structure
You can create the folder structure for the project.
- Select the project.
- Click Administration in the toolbar.
- Click Project setup in the tool menu.
All folders and subfolders are displayed per app.
- Choose between Add folder, Add binder and Add BIM.
Add a folder
- Click Add folder in the content pane to add a document folder.
The Add folder window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- Click on the different access type icons, or use the arrow icons to toggle between the access rights for all roles.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the folder is successfully added. The new folder () appears in the content pane.
- Add a subfolder

- Select an existing folder (document, binder or BIM).
- Click the ellipsis button at the top of the content pane.
A context menu pops up.
- Click Add folder to add a subfolder.
The Add new folder to window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- Optional: type a description.
- If applicable:
- Enable Copy access rights from parent folder.
- Enable Copy metadata from parent folder.
- Enable Copy automatic workflows from parent folder.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the subfolder is successfully added. The new subfolder appears in the content pane.
Add a binder
- Click Add binder in the content pane to add a binder folder.
The Add binder window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- If applicable, enable Show only documents with status, and select the applicable statuses.Note: The available document statuses correspond to the project settings.
- Click on the different access type icons, or use the arrow icons to toggle between the access rights for all roles.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the binder is successfully added. The new binder () appears in the content pane.
- Add a binder subfolder

- Select an existing folder (document, binder or BIM).
- Click the ellipsis button at the top of the content pane.
A context menu pops up.
- Click Add binder to add a sub-binder.
The Add new binder to window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- Optional: type a description.
- If applicable:
- Enable Show only documents with status, and select the applicable statuses.
- Enable Copy access rights from parent folder.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the sub-binder is successfully added. The new sub-binder appears in the content pane.
Add BIM
- Click Add BIM in the content pane to add a BIM folder.
The Add folder window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- Click on the different access type icons, or use the arrow icons to toggle between the access rights for all roles.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the BIM folder is successfully added. The new folder () appears in the content pane.
- Add a BIM subfolder

- Select an existing folder (document, binder or BIM).
- Click the ellipsis button at the top of the content pane.
A context menu pops up.
- Click Add BIM to add a BIM subfolder.
The Add new BIM folder to window appears.
- Enter a folder name.
- Optional: type a description.
- If applicable:
- Enable Copy access rights from parent folder.
- Click Add.
A pop up window informs you that the BIM subfolder is successfully added. The new BIM subfolder appears in the content pane.
