Drag and drop a document

You can drag and drop one or more documents:

  1. Click Files in the toolbar.
  2. Select the folder you want to upload to.
  3. Drag and drop the document(s) from your local device to the content pane.

    The Uploading window appears.

  4. If applicable, add a status and a description per document.
    Note: The available document statuses are: Draft, Proposal, In preparation, Revised, and Approved with remarks.

    In case the folder has metadata, more fields will appear in the Uploading window for you to fill in.

    Note: If a file with the same name and extension already exists in the folder where you want to drag and drop a file, you can:
    • Tick the Upload this document as a copy checkbox to upload the document as a separate file. If applicable, enter the required options.
    • Tick the Add as revision checkbox to upload the document as a revision of a selected document (only for Administrators).
      Note: You can search for a document in the Add as revision of field.
    • Tick the Replace last revision checkbox to replace the last revision of the document with the newly added version (only for Administrators).
    Note: If you are uploading multiple documents:
    • You can click apply data to all uploads to copy the added information to all documents you want to upload.
    • You can tick the Add as revision checkbox to upload the document as a revision of a selected document.
  5. Click Upload.

    A pop up window shows the upload progress and informs you that the documents are successfully uploaded.

You can drag and drop a revision for an opened document (only for Administrators):

  1. Click Files in the toolbar.
  2. Select the applicable folder.
  3. Click on the document you want to upload a revision for.The document details window appears.
  4. Drag the new document version from File Explorer and drop it over the document details window.The Upload revision window appears.
  5. If applicable, add a status and a description per document.
    Note: Optionally, you can:
    • Tick the Rename to: checkbox (becomes available if the dragged file has a different name) to rename the existing document to the dragged file's name.
    • Tick the Replace last revision checkbox to upload the document as the last revision.
  6. Click Upload.

    A pop up window informs you that the document is successfully uploaded.

    If applicable, click Send notification in the pop up window to inform users by email.
