Civil points contain two grips. The primary grip is placed at the insertion point
(1), while the alternative grip (2) is placed vertically above the insertion point
and always lies on the Label block. The position of the alternative grip therefore
adapts to the shape and size of the Label block, which depends on the
Symbol size and Symbol size type
parameters. You can use the alternative grip to drag the point label away from the
insertion point and to create a Leader.Figure 1. Figure 1: Move the alternative grip on the circle quadrant to drag away
text and create a Leader
There are two types of Leaders available: Line with arrow and
Line with no arrow. You can select the appropriate type
of Leader from the Type drop-down menu in the
Properties panel.Figure 2. Figure 2: The Leader with an arrow is shown on the left, the leader
without arrow is shown on the right
You can choose between different types of Leader arrows from the
Arrow drop-down menu in the
Properties panel. You can specify the arrow size in the
Arrow size field.Figure 3. Figure 3: Different type of arrows can be selected for the Civil point
Leader
You can attach the Leader arrow at the symbol insertion point or at the symbol
bounding box (Figure 4). You can select the appropriate attachment point of the
Leader arrow from the Attachment drop-down menu in the
Properties panel.Figure 4. Figure 4: Leader is attached at the insertion point (left side) and at
the symbol bounding box (right side)
There is also an option to set the Leader invisible.
