Move a document

You can move one or more documents to another folder:

  1. Click Files in the toolbar.
  2. Select the applicable folder.
  3. Select the document(s) you want to move.
  4. Click the ellipsis button at the top of the content pane.

    A context menu pops up.

  5. Click Move.
  6. The Move window appears.
  7. If applicable, edit the document name, and update the status.
  8. Select the target project and folder.
  9. Click Move.
    Note: When moving document(s) to a folder that has a form attached to it configured to Rename uploaded documents based on the fields' content, the resulting file name is predicted at the bottom of the Fill in metadata window.
  10. A pop-up window informs you that the documents are moved.
Important: To be able to use the Move option, you must belong to a role that has Add permission on the folder you want to move a document to and Delete permission on the folder you want to move the document from.
  • If you do not have the Delete permission, the Move option is not available in the drop-down menu from the ellipsis button .
  • If you do not have the Add permission, you will not be able to select the folder in the Move window.
