Classify As Bim Element dialog box

Opens via: BIMCLASSIFY command

The Classify As Bim Element dialog box specifies the types of classification or converts the selection to a block and classifies the block reference. The dialog box opens when the Other option in the BIMCLASSIFY command is selected.

Search bar

Allows you to search for an element in all listed element categories.

Element categories

Displays all available element categories:

• Building Core Elements
• Building Architectural Elements
• Building Structural Elements
• Building Control Elements
• Building Service Elements
• Electrical Elements
• HVAC Elements
• Plumbing & Fire Protection Elements
• Spatial Structure Elements
• Civil Elements
• Generic Elements

Selected category elements

Displays all the elements available for the selected category.

Note: To have access to element properties but not classify an entity as a specific element type, choose the Building Element type from the Generic Elements category for the that entity.

Convert to block and classify the block reference

Converts the selection to a block that is then classified as the selected element. Selecting it enables the Block name field.

Block name

Allows you to enter a name for the soon to be created block reference.

Note: All element types can be exported and imported to IFC4x3, and can be used in data extraction, filtering (for Typed Plans or Graphic Override).
