Frequently Asked Questions
- Will my current version of BricsCAD stop working on Windows 10?
No. BricsCAD V26.2 and earlier versions continue to function on Windows 10 exactly as they do today.
- Does this affect macOS or Linux users?
No. This change applies only to the Windows platform requirement.
- I have a perpetual license. Am I affected?
To run BricsCAD V27.1, you need Windows 11.
- I'm on a subscription. What happens if I can't upgrade my OS by October?
Your subscription gives you access to the latest release, but V27.1 requires Windows 11. We recommend upgrading to Windows 11 now to avoid any interruption.
- My organization has a long lead time for OS changes. What should we do?
Start the Windows 11 upgrade process now. Five months of lead time should be sufficient for most change-control cycles. If you have specific concerns, contact Support.
- Why isn't BricsCAD waiting longer?
Microsoft ended Windows 10 support in October 2025. By the release of V27.1, Windows 10 will have been unsupported for a full year. Aligning with the current platform lets us focus on performance and new capabilities.
