Licensing error -105 (Error reading from network)

Symptoms

When trying to activate BricsCAD, I get the error message: Error reading from network (error -105).

Cause

A firewall or antivirus is blocking bricscad.exe from accessing the internet traffic.

Solution

Do one of the following:

  1. Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus (UTM).
  2. Make an exception on the firewall for:
    • port 80
    • URL: license.bricsys.com/actpro
    • bricscad.exe
  3. Try another internet connection (example: mobile hotspot).
