Creates, modifies, and deletes named groupings of entities.

Displays a dialog box:
Create, edit, pr erase a named group, and then click OK.
Command Options

Description |
Display Unnamed Groups |
Toggles the display of unnamed groups:

Find Groups by Entity |
Reports the name(s) of groups when you select entities in the drawing. Temporarily removes the dialog box, and then prompts:
Click OK to close this dialog box and to return to the original dialog box. |
Highlight Selected Groups |
Highlights entities that belong to the selected group.

Un-group Selected Groups |
Removes group status from selected entities:
The names disappear from the list. |

Name |
Specifies the names of groups. |
Unnamed |
Toggles whether the group has a name:
Unnamed groups are assigned the prefix *A following by an incremented number, such as *A2. |
Description |
Specifies an optional description of the group. |
Selectable |
Determines how groups are selected when the PICKSTYLE system variable is set to 1 or 3.

Select Entities |
Dismisses the dialog box temporarily, and then prompts you at the command bar:
Back in the dialog box, the selected entities become part of the group. |

Adds entities to the selected group; prompts you at the command bar:

Remove Entities from Group |
Removes entities from the selected group; prompts you at the command bar:

Re-Order Entities |
Changes the order of entities in groups; displays the Order Group dialog box; see below. |
Order Group Options |
Description |
Group Name |
Lists the names of named and unnamed groups. |
Remove From Position |
Specifies the position number of the entity to be reordered. |
Enter New Position Number for the Entity |
Specifies the new position number for the group. |
Number of Entities |
Specifies the range of entities to reorder. |
Re-Order |
Applies the re-ordering dictated by the previous three fields. |
Highlight |
Highlights entities in the group; dismisses the Order Group dialog box, and then displays the following one:

Reverse Order |
Reverses the order of entities in the group. |
Grips Editing
Groups can be edited directly through grips in two ways:
Selectable - select one entity in the group, and all entities are selected (show highlights and grips).
Not Selectable - select one entity and only that entity is selected, such as the ellipse shown below.
