Creates a polyline in the shape of a rectangle.

Description

Creates a closed, four-sided rectangular polyline in the shape of a rectangle, square, and variants with chamfers or fillets.

Method

This command has 5 methods to begin creating a rectangle:

  • Select first corner of rectangle
  • Rotated
  • Square
  • Area
  • Dimensions

Options within the command

Select first corner of rectangle
Allows you to begin creating a rectangle by specifying the first corner of a rectangle.
Other corner of rectangle
Specifies the opposite corner of the rectangle. The rectangle is drawn parallel to the X and Y axes.
Chamfer
Specifies the first and second chamfer distance to use for all rectangles.
  1. First chamfer distance
  2. Second chamfer distance
turn chamfer Off
Turns Off the Chamfer option.
use Default setting
Uses the default settings for chamfer, specified by the CHAMFERA, CHAMFERB, CHAMFERC, CHAMFERD, CHAMMODE system variables.
Fillet
Specifies the fillet distance to use for all rectangles.
  1. Fillet radius
turn fillet Off
Turns Off the Fillet option.
use Default setting
Uses the default setting for fillet, specified by the FILLETRAD system variable.
Rotated
Creates a rectangle by specifying two corners and the rotation angle.
  1. Rotation angle
Square
Begins creating a rectangle by specifying a corner of a square.
Second corner of square
Specifies a corner along the same side of the square to define its length and angle.
Elevation
Specifies the height above the XY-plane to use for all rectangles.
use Default
Uses the default setting for elevation, specified by the ELEVATION system variable.
Thickness
Specifies the thickness of the rectangle line segments. All segments have the same thickness.
Width of line
Specifies the width of the rectangle line segments. All segments have the same width.
Area
Creates a rectangle by specifying its area.
Length
Calculates the rectangle dimension based on length.
Width
Calculates the rectangle dimension based on width.
Dimensions
Creates a rectangle by specifying its length and width.
