Creates a TIN volume surface between a base and comparison TIN surfaces or an elevation.

Method

When the TIN Volume Surface associativity option of the Civil / Associativity user preference is set, TIN volume surfaces automatically rebuild when their source surfaces change.

Select the base and the comparison TIN surfaces between which a TIN volume surface will be created and select a bounding area for the TIN volume surface.

Options within the command

Elevation
Creates a TIN volume surface between a base and an elevation.
Select the base TIN surface, enter the desired elevation value and select a bounding area for the TIN volume surface.
Note: In the Properties panel of a TIN Volume Surface there are TIN Volume Statistics properties:
  • Cut volume: reports the cut volume.
  • Fill volume: reports the fill volume.
  • Cut 2D area: reports the 2D area of the cut portions of the TIN Volume Surface.
  • Fill 2D area: reports the 2D area of the fill portions of the TIN Volume Surface.
  • Cut 3D area: reports the 3D area of the cut portions of the TIN Volume Surface.
  • Fill 3D area: reports the 3D area of the fill portions of the TIN Volume Surface.
