CURVECALC command
Calculates curve parameters based on input and adds it to the drawing.
Description
Opens the Curve Calculator dialog box to set the curve parameters and draw the curve in the drawing.
The curve parameters are presented in the following picture:
Arc definition
The Degree of curvature defined by the Arc definition means that the arc determines the degree of curvature. This definition is commonly used for roadway curves, where the degree of the curve corresponds to an angle of an arc of 100 units.
Chord definition
The Degree of curvature defined by the Chord definition means that the chord determines the degree of curvature. This definition is commonly used for railway curves, where the degree of the curve corresponds to a chord of 100 units.
The calculation is performed based on the Radius or the Delta angle.
- Radius
- If checked, the calculation starts from a fixed radius.
- Delta angle
- If checked, the calculation starts from a fixed delta angle.
- Tangent length
- Sets the tangent length of the curve.
- Arc length
- Sets the arc length of the curve.
- Chord length
- Sets the chord length of the curve.
- External distance
- Sets the external length of the curve.
- Mid-ordinate distance
- Sets the mid-ordinate length of the curve.
- Degree of curvature
- Sets the degree of curvature. Based on Arc definition, the degree of curvature is determined by the arc, and based on Chord definition, the degree of curvature is determined by the chord.
- Select arc in drawing
- Allows you to select an arc from the drawing.
- Draw curve
- Temporarily dismisses the Curve Calculator dialog box to draw the calculated curve in the drawing.
Options within the command
- Select Entity
- Allows you to select an entity from the drawing.Note: When you choose an entity as the starting point of the curve, the curve drawn will be tangent to that entity.
- Point
- Allows you to select the curve origin by picking a point in the drawing.
- Select curve direction
- Allows you to set the curve direction.
- Select curve side
- Allows you to pick the side of the curve.
- Left
- Places the curve to the left side.
- Right
- Places the curve to the right side.
