QDIM command
Quickly creates a series of dimensions from selected entities.

Method
Select the geometry to dimension, then specify the dimension line position.
The command is used for quickly generating a series of baseline or continued dimensions for each selected entity, and can be used in one of the following modes:
- Advanced mode allows placement of multiple dimensions with an adjustable level of details. Press the Enter key to exit the command.
- Classic mode exits the command after placing a dimension.
Note: When you first run the command, the dimensions are created using the advanced mode. The mode is remembered the next time you use this command.
Options within the command
- Continuous
- Creates a succession of continuing dimensions where the lines are all positioned end-to-end on the same line.
- Staggered
- Creates a set of staggered dimensions where the linear dimension lines are spaced apart by a fixed distance.
- Baseline
- Creates a set of stacked dimensions starting from the same baseline.
- Ordinate
- Creates a set of ordinate dimensions with a single extension line with an X or Y value for each feature.
- Radius
- Creates radial dimensions and shows the radius value for the selected arcs and circles.
- Diameter
- Shows the diameter value of the selected circles or arcs.
- datumPoint
- Sets a new reference point for baseline and ordinate dimensions.
- Edit
- Adds/removes dimension points to/from the computed point set.
- seTtings
- Sets the entity snap priority.
- CLassic
- Sets the command on classic mode.
- Advanced
- Sets the command on advanced mode. This is the default option.
- Level of detail
- Provides an adjustable level of details.
- All
- Adds all dimensions in a specific direction.
- Position aware
- Dimensions only the vertices that are not occluded by other geometry.
- Extents
- Dimensions only the extents of the selected set.
Note: If the HOTKEYASSISTANT system variable is On, the Hotkey Assistant widget displays. Repeatedly press the Ctrl key during the dynamic display of the QDIM command to cycle the level of detail options.
