Using experimental features
The Experimental features () is a module where new features (commands, panels, or dialog boxes) that are experimentally introduced in BricsCAD are centralized and easy to use under Experimental mode.
The Experimental mode is disabled by default, but can be enabled in the following ways:
- Enable it in the Experimental new features module on the Start page.
- Set the EXPERIMENTALMODE system variable to ON.
- Run the MANAGEEXPERIMENTALFEATURES command and press Enable button in the Experimental Features dialog box.
Enabling the Experimental mode gives you access to early features and provides you with the opportunity to help the BricsCAD team to define the direction of these features.
Enabling or disabling the Experimental mode requires a restart of BricsCAD.
When the Experimental mode is disabled, the experimental features are available in BricsCAD, but do not work. When trying to access one of them, a message is displayed. For example, if you run the WORKPLANEACTIVATE command, the following message is displayed in the Command line: WORKPLANE is an experimental feature that is currently not enabled. Use the MANAGEEXPERIMENTALFEATURES command to enable experimental features.
