XCLIP command
Clips the display of a selected Xref or block reference to a specified clipping boundary.

Method
Choose one or more Xrefs or Block references to be clipped using the desired clipping boundary.
Note: Enter ALL in the Select entities option in the Command line to select all the Xrefs and Block references in the current drawing.
Options within the command
- ON
- Turns On clipping boundaries that were turned Off by the OFF option.
The area outside the clipping boundary is hidden from the view.
- OFF
- Turns Off clipping boundaries so that all of the selected Xrefs or Block references are fully visible again. The clipping boundary is saved, until it is deleted, and it can be turned on again with the ON option.
- Clipdepth
- Sets the front and back clipping points only for 3D Xrefs or 3D Block references.
- Specify front clip point
- Specifies the position of the front clipping plane by picking the point or entering coordinates.
- Specify back clip point
- Specifies the position of the back clipping plane by picking the point or entering coordinates.
- Distance
- Specifies the position of the clipping points by entering the distance from the clipping boundary to the front or back clipping points.
- Remove
- Removes the front or back clipping point.
Note:- This option does not operate until you create at least one clipping boundary.
- The cutting plane is parallel to the current clipping boundary.
- When picking the front or back clipping point you can define the cutting plane by creating a polyline through the points you want to cut.
- Invert
- Inverts the clipping mode so that the entities are clipped either outside or inside the specified boundary. Note: The Misc section of the Properties panel also allows you to turn the clipping On and Off, and to invert it.
- Delete
- Erases the clipping boundaries from the selected entities without prompting or warning you.
- generate Polyline
- Draws a polyline over a selected clipping boundary allowing you to edit the clipping boundary, but in an indirect manner. This new generated polyline could be edited with PEDIT command and reused as a New boundary option.
- New boundary
- Allows you to add a clipping boundary to all selected entities.
- Delete old boundary(s)?
- This option appears in Command line only when an existing boundary is detected.
- Yes
- Deletes the previous boundary(s).
- No
- Exits the command.
