Mechanical workspace

User interface

The user interface changes based on the current workspace.

The BricsCAD Mechanical workspace includes all tools, commands, and settings required to create and edit mechanical elements. Start by creating a new drawing, opening an existing one or importing a mechanical design.

Mechanical Toolbars

To display a toolbar specific to Mechanical modeling, such as Mechanical Symbols, Sheet Metal, Assembly or Standard Part, do one of the following:

  • Launch the TOOLBAR command.
  • Right-click a toolbar, ribbon or panel, select Toolbars and choose the desired toolbar.

The Mechanical workspace displays the Access 3D toolbar by default.

Mechanical Ribbon

The Mechanical ribbon includes commonly used ribbon tabs, each containing Mechanical tools and other graphical control elements, grouped by functionality.

Panels

The Mechanical workspace displays the following panels by default:

  • On the left-hand side: Tips, BricsCAD Assist, Mechanical Browser, Parameters Manager, Structure and Filter.
  • On the right-hand side: Properties, Layers, Tool Palettes, Library, BOM Manager, Sheet Sets and Cloud.

Panels specific to the Mechanical workspace

Mechanical Browser

The Mechanical Browser panel allows you to view and modify the parametric properties of all mechanical blocks and solids.

BOM Manager

The BOM Manager panel allows you to browse, create and edit bills of materials in the current drawing.
